# Expectation > Acceptance testing where the behaviour is the source of truth. You write expectations (given/when/then) in a shared vocabulary of states and events; Expectation checks them for conflicts, compiles user stories into acceptance tests, runs them against the system, and writes the user manual with screenshots. For AI agents: install the skill at https://expectation.sim001.net/skills/expectation/SKILL.md (also /skill.md), or read the whole guide as one text file at https://expectation.sim001.net/llms-full.txt. ## Start here - [For AI agents](https://expectation.sim001.net/guide/agents.html): commands, workflow and where everything is - [Skill: expectation](https://expectation.sim001.net/skills/expectation/SKILL.md): the overview skill - [Skill: write-feature-specs](https://expectation.sim001.net/skills/write-feature-specs/SKILL.md): writing feature specs that make useful docs - [Getting started](https://expectation.sim001.net/guide/getting-started.html): a complete suite and test in a few minutes - [The language](https://expectation.sim001.net/guide/language.html): every line of the `.expect` format ## Writing suites - [Feature docs that explain](https://expectation.sim001.net/guide/feature-docs.html): the depth a feature page needs, with a worked example - [Writing specs that read well](https://expectation.sim001.net/guide/writing-specs.html) - [Platforms](https://expectation.sim001.net/guide/platforms.html) - [From stories to acceptance tests](https://expectation.sim001.net/guide/stories.html) ## Running and publishing - [Drivers](https://expectation.sim001.net/guide/drivers.html) - [Embedded drivers](https://expectation.sim001.net/guide/remote.html): Swift, JavaScript and Rust apps driven by `expectation-run` - [The generated manual](https://expectation.sim001.net/guide/manual.html): includes custom themes and approved-only manuals - [The expectation command](https://expectation.sim001.net/guide/cli.html) - [Diagnostics](https://expectation.sim001.net/guide/diagnostics.html) ## Examples - [Smart kettle, a worked feature-docs suite](https://expectation.sim001.net/smart-kettle/site/index.html) ([approved only](https://expectation.sim001.net/smart-kettle-approved/site/index.html)) - [The kettle manual](https://expectation.sim001.net/example/site/index.html) - [One suite, three apps](https://expectation.sim001.net/demo/site/index.html) ## Optional - [API reference](https://expectation.sim001.net/api/expectation_harness/index.html) - [Source on GitHub](https://github.com/ptescher/expectation)
